Nevada Real Estate Salesperson Exam Exam Guide

The exam is split into a national portion and a Nevada state-specific portion, each with its own content outline. The state-specific content outline for salespersons weights its topics as follows:

Before sitting for the exam, candidates must also complete 120 total hours of prelicense education: 45 hours of Real Estate Principles, 45 hours of Real Estate Law (including 18 hours specific to Nevada law), 15 hours of Contracts, and 15 hours of Agency.

Pearson VUE lists the national portion and the Nevada state portion at $100 each, with a two-for-one combination discount bringing the cost to $100 total when both portions are scheduled together. Exam registration fees are final and nonrefundable. Separately, current NRED fee schedules show a $140 salesperson license fee due after passing, though an older Pearson VUE handbook references a $125 figure for the same fee — candidates should confirm the current amount on the official NRED fee schedule.

The national portion consists of 80 scored questions (plus 5 unscored pretest items) in 150 minutes, and the Nevada state-specific portion consists of 40 scored questions (plus 5-10 unscored pretest items) in 90 minutes. Candidates who schedule both portions together as a combination exam are given 240 minutes total. A score of 75% correct is required to pass each portion, and the exam is administered by Pearson VUE.
