Delaware Real Estate Salesperson Exam Exam Guide

The exam is split into a national/general portion and a Delaware state-law portion, each with its own scored content outline. On the national portion, the heaviest-weighted domains are:

The Delaware state-law portion adds its own content areas, led by Statutory Requirements Governing the Activities of Licensees (17 items) and Additional State Topics (16 items), plus Duties and Powers of the Real Estate Commission (4 items) and Licensing Requirements (3 items). Before sitting the exam, candidates must complete a 99-hour Delaware salesperson pre-licensing course.

The examination fee is $88, paid at the time of reservation. The Delaware Real Estate Commission's fee schedule separately lists a $149 salesperson application fee and a $224 reinstatement fee for lapsed licenses; consult the Commission's official fee schedule for the current license application cost.

The national/general portion contains 80 scored items plus 5 unscored pretest items, and the Delaware state-law portion contains 40 scored items plus its own 10 unscored pretest items. Candidates are given four hours total to complete the exam, and a scaled score of 70 (on a 0-100 scale) is required to pass each portion.
