Georgia Road Signs & Road Rules Test Exam Guide

The Knowledge Exam covers two areas, and Georgia scores them as separate sections: Road Rules and Road Signs. The signs side tests shapes and colors, from the stop octagon and yield triangle to the meaning of orange, blue, and brown panels, plus pavement markings like yellow versus white lines and no-passing stripes. The rules side ranges across right-of-way at stops and left turns, school bus law, following distance, speed adjustments for weather, and Georgia's impaired-driving standards including the .08 limit and implied consent.

The Georgia Knowledge Exam consists of two tests, Road Rules and Road Signs, each 20 questions, and each demands a minimum score of 15 out of 20, a 75 percent pass mark that must be met on both sections independently. If you fail a section, Georgia imposes a short cooling-off period: you wait 1 day before retesting, and after a second failure the wait extends to 7 days.
