CompTIA also maintains renewal fees for keeping your certification active through their Continuing Education program, which requires submitting CEUs from approved activities.

The exam contains up to 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions, delivered over 90 minutes at a Pearson VUE testing center or online with proctoring. You need a score of 720 on a scale of 100–900 to pass. The current version (N10-009) launched June 20, 2024.

There is no verified current CompTIA Network+ pass-rate figure in the official sources reviewed for this guide. An unsourced percentage, forum poll or prep provider's selected customer results should not be presented as the exam-wide rate. If a new report is published, check its date, sample and treatment of repeat attempts before comparing it.

Use the published requirements as your starting point

The exam owner's documentation and the linked references support the following preparation constraints. Read each in its own unit; a passing standard, content weight and experience requirement answer different questions.

The 720 score uses a 100–900 scale. Dividing 720 by 900 does not give a raw accuracy target or an official pass rate. The maximum of 90 questions is not a promise that every form contains 90 questions.

What makes CompTIA Network+ practice useful?

• Troubleshoot a connectivity scenario by choosing the next diagnostic step and explaining what its result would rule out.
• Practice reading network diagrams and configuration evidence, not just port-number recall.
• Complete performance-based practice separately from multiple-choice review, then check whether task work leaves enough time for the remaining questions.

For each missed question, keep an error log with the topic, the assumption you made and why the closest alternative fails. Then answer a fresh question on the same concept. Repeating a familiar bank can measure answer memory rather than transfer to a new scenario.
