- Formulary
- A list of prescription drugs, often tiered, that a health plan or pharmacy prefers or covers. It guides which medications are reimbursed and may require substitutions or prior authorization for non-listed drugs.
- CPhT
- Certified Pharmacy Technician, the professional credential awarded by the PTCB to candidates who pass the PTCE. It signals that the holder has met national standards for pharmacy technician knowledge.
- Scaled Score
- A converted score reported on a standardized range rather than a raw count of correct answers, used to keep passing standards consistent across exam versions. For the PTCE, the passing scaled score is 1,400.
- PTCE
- The Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam, the computer-based test administered by the PTCB that a candidate must pass to earn the CPhT credential. It contains 90 multiple-choice questions and requires a scaled score of 1,400 to pass.
